May District Update and Feedback
We are all curious about what school will look like and how the impact of COVID-19 will affect us in August. It has been recommended that districts plan for flexibility in scheduling depending on COVID-19 and what may happen in the Fall and Winter. Currently, OGUSD is looking at purchasing additional technology as well as researching potential schedules that will incorporate various degrees of distance learning.
We could see school with the following options at various times during the school year:
- Full reopening and on-site classes with possible limitations (physical distancing, gathering limits, restrictions to visitors and trips, etc)
- Hybrid of distance learning and on-site classes
- Distance learning- suspended site-based instruction
The CDC recently posted considerations for reopening schools and I anticipate more local guidelines coming soon. Until we have more information, we will continue to make tentative plans and adjust with the most recent guidance and safety in mind. I have included a link for parent and student feedback that will help us plan with your thoughts and ideas in mind. I will continue to work with county superintendents, SCOE, and health officials to coordinate, plan, and prepare. All updates will be posted on the website and messaged to families.
Thank you for your patience and help in keeping our community safe.
