Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome back to the Oak Grove Union School District! We are excited to begin another outstanding school year, with the first day of school on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. As we prepare to welcome our students back to campus, we invite you to watch our district video showcasing the many programs, opportunities, and experiences that make our schools special. We look forward to seeing our students' smiling faces and embarking on a successful year of learning together.

Academic and Enrichment Programs

At Oak Grove Union School District, we remain committed to continuous improvement and student success through our Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) goals. Our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework ensures that every student receives the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support needed to thrive. We are proud to offer a wide range of enriching opportunities, including athletics, fine arts, music, art, and educational field trips that enhance classroom learning. Students at both Oak Grove Elementary School and Willowside Middle School have access to art and music programs that foster creativity and self-expression. Learning opportunities are further extended through our Before and After School (BAAS) program and engaging field trip experiences. We are grateful for the continued partnership and support of Oak Grove Educational Partners (OGEP), whose generous contributions help make many of these experiences possible.

Social-Emotional Learning and Wellness

Student learning is at the heart of everything we do. We know that students learn best when they feel safe, supported, valued, and respected. Our dedicated counselors and caring staff work together to support students' social-emotional growth and overall well-being. We are proud to have a full-time counselor at each school site to provide guidance, support, and resources for our students and families.

Communication

Effective communication between school and home is essential to student success. Oak Grove Union School District uses ParentSquare as our primary communication platform. We encourage all families to download the ParentSquare app and check it regularly for important school updates, emergency notifications, and school closure information. Families can also access student grades and state assessment results through the Aeries Parent Portal. During our upcoming Back-to-School Night events, we will offer informational sessions to help families navigate and utilize these important communication tools.

Safety

Providing a safe and secure learning environment remains one of our highest priorities. To maintain campus security and student safety, all visitors must check in at the school office before entering classrooms or participating in volunteer activities. In addition to conducting regular safety drills, our schools maintain comprehensive security camera systems and updated site safety plans, which are available on the district website. Principals will share additional site-specific safety procedures and visitor information in their upcoming newsletters.

Our Staff

Our dedicated staff members are committed to supporting district goals and meeting the diverse needs of every student. Through ongoing professional learning and collaboration, our educators continually seek new ways to help students succeed. We are fortunate to have a team that genuinely cares about building positive relationships and creating meaningful learning experiences for every child.

Volunteer Opportunities

We encourage families to become actively involved in our school community. There are many ways to volunteer, whether in classrooms, on campus, or through Oak Grove Educational Partners (OGEP). OGEP is an extraordinary group of parent and community volunteers who support fundraising efforts, field trips, and community events throughout the year.
