Letter from Sonoma County Health Officer

Dr. Celeste Philip, Sonoma County's new Health Officer, has provided the attached letter for parents/guardians regarding current state and nationwide measles outbreaks. In this letter (provided in Spanish and English), she outlines the serious threat measles presents to unvaccinated or under-vaccinated children and strongly encourages any unvaccinated children to get the measles vaccine as soon as possible. SCOE strongly supports this valuable information being shared with parents and guardians.

Air Quality Guidelines
To help schools and local educational agencies prepare to address impacts from wildfire smoke, the California Department of Education (CDE) and many state partners developed guidance that local education leaders can use in conversation with local air districts to determine how school activities will be affected when air quality is poor.

This guidance can be found on the CDE webpage at https://www.cde.ca.gov/ls/ep/ airquality.asp.
